As the days go by I more and more want to leave the MIA. Doing some research on moving to the LA area in a couple of years. My partners and I income would range from 90,000 to 120,000. What are some areas that we could afford to live in?
I would love to buy a house out there but I've been hearing and reading more and more that the market is going to crash out there so I'm waiting to see what happens.

The average home price here is around $400,000. You could get a decent house in the valley for closer to $300,000. I live in the valley (but in an apartment). It's not bad - I live in the Encino/Tarzana area, which is actually very nice. I guess it depends on what you are looking for by moving out here.
Tell me more...

I really liked the city of South Pasadena, I tend to cater to the resedential/suburb areas.
We would rent for a while until we found a house we liked. For homes I just want a decent single family... with a backyard big enough for a pool.

3. South Pasadena is a bit of a schlepp, |

But if that's OK with you, you might find better home prices there.
I'm not too familiar with Pasadena. I'm waiting for my Ohio State Buckeyes to go to the Rose Bowl, so I can re-familiarize myself with the area. :-)

Echo Park, Mount Washington.
These are all near downtown, hollywood, and the glendale/pasadena/burbank areas.
Prices have gotten ridiculous in the last few years. These neighborhoods may or may not still be affordable.
