Don't buy Whiskas Meaty Selections unless you want really fat cats!
I have three cats. I keep a continuous feeder with dry food and then, each night before I go to bed, I give them one tiny (Fancy Feast sized) can or pouch of wet food to share. This ensures that the wet food is always fully appreciated and polished off. The continuous feeder keeps them off my back, although one has developed an unhealthy obsession with amount of food left in the feeder - heaven forbid it should be allowed to run out, in which case the starving will commence in about five minutes.

Normally I get completely dry indoor or hairball formula for the feeder. But if I don't make it to the big grocery store in town, I'll pick up some of those Whiskas nugget things in the purple bag from the little market near my home, which only has that and Meow Mix and a few other brands my pickypoos don't care for. They've never been especially thrilled with the purple bag stuff, either - but they eat it.

Well, there's this new kind of purple bag stuff - Meaty Selections™, with NEW! TASTIER MEATIER FLAVOR. Chicken & Turkey Flavors with CRUNCHY MEATY NUGGETS™. The stuff is evil! I bought a 1-pound zippy bag of it on Wednesday evening, expecting it would last until Sunday or Monday - but yesterday morning, the starving was about to commence. So I ran to the little market, bought a 3.3-pound bag of the same stuff, thinking it would be the last time because the two who are fixed are already a little tubby, and poured about a third of it into the feeder. It's half gone already, and there has not been a time since I got up this morning that one cat is not sitting at the feeder, crunching away. I tasted one of the nuggets, just to see what the attraction is. Not bad - if I were starving, I could eat it.

This time, it's true: It's what cats want. Unfortunately, I'm afraid they won't want anything else. But at least they won't be hippos.

2. Obviously!
I saw that the other night and commented that it resembles one of my cats - the one with the obsession - only he's dark grey and about a third that size.

4. Hmmm, the vet said my senior citizen kitty needed some more
meat on his bones, so maybe I will try this stuff. He's a fussy eater, sort of, and only eats when hunger really gets to him. So he's pretty skinny. He loves to run around outside and burns off a lot of calories, even in the winter.

5. Cat food is disgusting and more expensive than dog food,
which actually tastes better. I would eat the cats before I ate their food (and I'm a vegetarian :))
