My cat just ate some cheetos
What's the weirdest thing your cat ever ate!?

1. "cheeto" would be a great name for an orange cat...or one who ATE
those awful orange things.

2. Plastic filament tape....
Yes, the cat has a thing for plastic. He loves it. The tags on pillows - Yum! Thick plastic grocery bags? A Gourmet treat.

The tape came up after a dose of cod liver oil and 4 separate vomiting attacks (He got the oil after attack #1 since it sounded like a bad hairball.) Where he got it, I don't know. We could not identify it, and don't even own tape like it.

If you mean food type things, they all have this strange affection for buttered toast; one likes popcorn, one likes Pringles, and one likes Baked Lays.

is your plastic eating cat skinny? Thinking about eating plastic myself if it makes you skinny? :eyes:

23. Nope.. this is my big boy.
He's 12 pounds, on a medium frame. Vet says he's overweight but our other cat is 6 pounds on a small frame and the vet says she's underweight (even though she's a little pig; just genetics, I guess) so we have not been able to come up with a diet that both of them can handle.

If eating plastic made me skinny (I'm carrying about 15 extra pounds) I'd have to think pretty hard about it.

3. Cats with orange teeth!
:D

My cat ate TP when he was a kitten, but that was his first and last time, lol. Gladly, it didn't agree with him.

4. this is true -
once, i saw an old housemate's kitten run by with about 5 feet of cassette tape hanging out its mouth and trailing about a dozen feet out its ass. housemate took it to the vet, and the vet just pulled it out the cat's butt. the cat was fine - seems they have very short, uncomplicated digestive tracks.

37. no competant vet would do that
Edited on Sun Dec-26-04 10:16 PM by nicolemrw
according to my husband (who's a vetrinary technician). he said a situation like that would require surgery, and if this really happened, the vet (and kitten) were incrediably lucky.

5. Bout half a carton of Parmesan cheese...
...not the shaker carton, the deli-style carton from Trader Joe's. Somebody left it on the counter with the lid off, and the cat got into it and had a wild party!

Then she went over to the carpet, horked it up and ate it all over again.

10. the sponge cake portion of a jelly krimpet
when we were kids, my brother apparently dropped a jelly krimpet on the floor and, not wanting to eat it anymore, decided to just leave it there.

next morning i awoke to find three little drops of jelly side by side by side. took me a moment to convince myself they weren't mouse turds! the cat had eaten the surrounding spongecake but left the injected jelly blobs untouched!

I had a cat who ate canned sweet peas - one at a time - by spearing them on a claw then bringing his paw to his mouth.

13. Popcorn
Not actually my cat, but Teddy (who was the designated mouser in my workplace) used to beg if he saw people eating it. Not even the buttered or cheese-flavored stuff either! We found this out when we were stringing air-popped corn and cranberries for office Christmas decorations.

20. Mine liked..
Birds and rats. We had "roof rats" in the neighborhood.
I'll never forget two occasions.

1. Walked in the front door and PK (Psycho Killer) had left me a BIRD HEAD... Just the head... with the little beak sticking out.

YUCK!!!

and

2. PK was making a racket and woke up one morning. I opened one eye to see a baby rat beside my bed. I thought, I don't remember buying her a toy that looked like that... and then... screamed.

I have a special set of kitchen tongs that are the designated rodent removal tool for the house. I keep them outside and use them to remove the little gifts that PK leaves me.

and I have never seen this cat eat ever except for sheetrock.

And now one of the cats is into betta fish. Unfortunately they are my daughters pets and a very expensive meal for a cat.

A piece of steamed broccoli fell off my fork and was immediately claimed by the cats. I couldn't believe it. I dropped another piece just to watch them fight over it.

33. The cocanut and pecan frosting off a german chocolate cake
Years ago I had a cat that ate the topping off of a german chocolate cake. I had left the cake out one night thinking the cat would not be interested in it, so I only covered it loosely with saran wrap. When I got up in the morning I saw he had tore of the saran wrap and ate off all of the frosting. Lucky for him he wasn't in the room at the time or he would have been dead when I got ahold of him!

One of my current cats likes mini-marshmallows. I don't give them to her very often, though, because they are sticky and bad for her teeth.

35. One of my past cats had a thing for bread. He would plow
through the top of a loaf of bread, right through the plastic bag.

This can also ate tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, and tomato juice.

Another past cat liked asparagus, green beans and would lick Italian salad dressing off my plate.

I have had three cats that were absolutely goofy about corn on the cob.

Cat Zilla likes squirrel meat.

I also had the Christmas tinsel infection, it was not pleasant.

somewhere I have some corn on the cob and tomato juice photos. when I find them I will post them up.
