Anyone else host Christmas dinner at their place this year?
We had Christmas dinner at our place this year. It worked out pretty well. We had 7 guests plus our family, so 10 people in all in our two bedroom apartment. We cleaned up the place real nice and made lots of extra space for everyone. My husband made cornish hens, corn , and mashed potatoes. We also had lots of snacks for everyone (veggies and dips, crackers and cheese, lil' smokies, etc). My husband's aunt brought the deserts and dinner rolls. She brought a cheese cake sampler, key lime pie, and cola cake. We definitely had plenty of food.

Everyone seemed to have lots of fun, and our two-year-old son was, of course, the life of the party. He just learned how to say "thank you" very recently, and everyone thought it was so cute whenever he said it.

Our son got lots of presents. I think the neatest gift he got was actually one that was sent from one of my friends in Maine. She gave him a potty training Elmo. It's cute. Elmo asks for a drink and asks to use the potty. It's a great toy because our son loves Elmo, and plus we want to start potty training him asap.

He also got four wooden toddler puzzles, bath toys and bubble bath finger paint, an electronic alphabet/phonics/spelling/music toy, play-doh, a set of magnetic numbers, two books, a doggie flash light, toddler set of nuts and bolts, blues clues DVD, a spiral race track with two racing cars, and little writing desk. We weren't expecting so much stuff, but I guess our son doesn't mind. :)

My husband and I received a couple of restaurant gift certificates and a sampler of chocolates too.

We gave out some pretty cool gifts too. We got my husband's dad and his family a George Foreman grill, and we got my husband's aunt and uncle and food dehydrator.

Our apartment is all clean. It didn't take very long to clean up (thanks to the dishwasher).

Hope everyone else had a great day! :)
