1. Eating? Now?
My mom made me eat my body weight earlier. I don't have enough room for another bite. :D

5. We just now had our Christmas dinner.
We only had some light pastries, juice and coffee early this morning (the child had us up at 7 am, no shocker there) and then we skipped lunch and had spiral sliced honey glazed ham, fresh green beans with new potatoes (and some ham thrown in when boiling it, mmmm) and croissants for dinner, so we aren't too full at all.

Now it's STOLLEN and CHOCOLATE BREAD and GLUHWEIN and RITTER BARS!

Mmmmm.

3. Yuck yuck yuck!
My husband, bless him, tried a joke along those lines when we bought it: "What if I steal this stollen?" Um, try "STOLE" the stollen, honey.

Oh but I love him.

7. Frohe Weihnachten
to you, as well! :toast:

My husband is half-German, so we go to this German bakery and deli every year before Christmas and load up on stuff he remembers eating as a kid.

6. I made apple strudel this year.
My first major baking project. I wanted to make baclava, but my mom's allergic to nuts.

Sorry, no pictures, but since I used PC phyllo dough it's not all that attractive anyway. Tastes pretty good, though.

9. I Just Had Dessert
My wife and I took separate cars to her parents' house, and I bailed at about 4 PM - after eating, presents, watching kids playing with toys, etc. Got home, took a nap, watched a little IFC. Wife just got home with 'magic bars' and chess pie; I had a little of each. Very good.

13. They're Similar
I think this was the recipe used:

MAGIC COOKIE BARS

1 stick butter
1 pkg. graham crackers
1 (8 oz.) can or pkg. Baker's coconut
1 can condensed milk
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 pkg. chocolate chips
Melt butter in pan in oven. Crumble up graham crackers; spread evenly in butter; spread coconut and pour on milk. Add chopped pecans and chocolate chips. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool, then cut into squares.

10. A double mocha and a cranberry scone
There is nothing quite like a 24-hour coffee shop/wifi hotspot on Christmas.
