So I'm watching "Sound of Music" on ABC, AND THERE'S ADS |
|
EVERY 10 MINUTES! I TIMED IT! :wtf:
I'm not a big fan of musicals but I actually like this one. If this was someone's first time seeing the musical, they wouldn't be able to follow the story! 10 minutes of commercials, then 10 minues of movie, then back to 10 minutes of commercials!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

3. I'm watching "A History of God" |

and they are only doing commercials about every 15 minutes. You really get a good grasp of what is being said about the developing concept of God. No singing, though. Probably that's why there aren't as many commercials.:)

6. Last year I saw the film in a theater for the first time. |

The "singalong" version with the karaoke-style subtitles came to town. Great fun, and on a very big screen, the film looks exquisite in a way I'd never imagined watching it on TV all these years.
The ad breaks are bad, but the film is ruined on TV just by hacking off half the widescreen picture. There's a moment in the opening credits where one name appears, and the whole image lurches to the left to center the next name into the frame - and then it happens one more time!
They seem just to be using the governess story to promote the daylights out of "Supernanny".

7. The ads block out the uncomfortable reality of that movie: NAZI'S! |
|
Agree...damned ads force me to tape everything, rent or buy it...
More FCC TRASH...They didn't use to allow all these ads...but it's all gone to hell since the '97 Tellicommunications Act. The damned Act needs to be repealed...pronto!!!! We pay for Cable/Sattelite yet we can't watch because of the damned ads which pay the cables. There has to be a limit on how much more we can put up with this! :nuke:

8. Oh, sort of how the networks cover the Olympics |

Ten minutes of commercials, ten minutes of upclose and personal tearjerkers about valiant athletes, ten minutes of events, ten minutes of commercials.... :grr:
