Nicholas Nickelby.
Arsenic and old lace.
Star Wars (the originals, they count as one! Trilogies count as one!)
Shrek.
A Clockwork Orange.
Monty Python and the holy grail.

I know there are a ton more I love, but since I can only name 10 I'll go with those. :D

47. I love Arsenic And Old Lace too.
Ultimately, it didn't make my top ten, but I'd put it in my top 20 (along with another Cary Grant movie, North By Northwest). I'd put It Happened One Night in the top 20 also.

10. I just can't whittle it down that far...
...I'm a movie junkie of the first water.

So the best I could do was my Top Eleven (and I'll bet I'm still leaving something out). In stream of consciousness order, they are:

Casablanca
The Wizard of Oz
King Kong (1933)
The Lord of the Rings (yeah, it's three films, but it's one story, so sue me.)
The Usual Suspects
Hopscotch
A Man for All Seasons
The Sting
The Great Escape
Continental Divide
My Favorite Year

11. That's a tough one.
It changes depending on my mood.

Schindler's List
Once Upon A Time In America (Sergio Leone's intended version, not the massacred version that appeared in theaters)
Close Encounters
Scarface
Full Metal Jacket
Godfather
Godfather II
O' Brother Where Art Thou?
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The Exorcist

NOTE: I'm not saying these are the BEST 10 movies, just my favorites. There are plenty of movies that are better than most of these, but good doesn't always translate into I enjoy it enough to watch it over and over again :).

And, as I said, the list is subject to change on a whim :).

25. Certainly this wouldn't be a critic's list,
but without attempting any ordering, here are some movies I like very much...

Dr. Strangelove
Chinatown
To Kill a Mockingbird
Family Man
Groundhog Day
My Life As A Dog
My Dinner With Andre
Aguirre, the Wrath of God.
Unchained Memories
Das Boot

My wife was describing the misery of her upbringing, which was in fact unhappy, and I quoted "My Life As A Dog," and said, "You have to compare." Then we explained to our children all about Laika the space dog.

My wife agreed. Her in-laws weren't good parents but certainly there were and are many worse.

It's true. "You have to compare."

For five I came up with:
Wizard of Oz
Star Trek IV
