Strange XP issue
Here's the thing.. I have a 2nd HD that is 40GB, and when I look at it, it says I have 750MB when I should have over 30GB left over..

It says:

1 GB capacity

273MB used
750MB free

So, I was thinking maybe something got screwed along the way, so I install Partition Magic and see the following info:

39GB capacity
7GB used
32GB left

So what's the problem here?

Oh, and running XP SP2

3. Probably something wrong with the partition or NTFS table
I'd suggest rescuing whatever data you have there onto your first HD and simply reformatting and repartitioning the drive--should fix the problem. And if it doesn't, there's probably a physical problem with the drive.

9. Be really careful with Partition Magic
you can destroy all your data if you aren't careful.
