Here's the thing.. I have a 2nd HD that is 40GB, and when I look at it, it says I have 750MB when I should have over 30GB left over..
It says:
1 GB capacity
273MB used 750MB free
So, I was thinking maybe something got screwed along the way, so I install Partition Magic and see the following info:
39GB capacity 7GB used 32GB left
So what's the problem here?
Oh, and running XP SP2

3. Probably something wrong with the partition or NTFS table |
|
I'd suggest rescuing whatever data you have there onto your first HD and simply reformatting and repartitioning the drive--should fix the problem. And if it doesn't, there's probably a physical problem with the drive.

4. you only partitioned it for 7 gig |
|
you have 32 gig of free space left unused because it isn't partitioned

7. On your "Local Disk Properties" |
|
..go to the "Tools" menu and do a "Check for errors"
First though ...go in to your BIOS and make sure everything is cool...
