Anyone ever wake up with your arm straight up in the air?
I find that on nights when I am very tired, I will awaken and for some reason my arm is sticking up. Maybe for balance..LOL.

3. My grandmother told me that
when my uncle returned from Vietnam, he would sleep with his hands around his throat. Sometimes when she tried to wake him up, he'd jump up and grab her throat, before he was even awake! It took him several months to get over that, apparently.

when my grandfather came back from Germany, she woke up one night to him sitting on top of her, choking her. He was still asleep. Luckily she woke him up in time.

6. Luckily I have never choked myself.
As far as the Hitler thing goes, he has already been channeled into Washington by the Supreme Court. :)

The weight of the cats who sleep on me prevents me from moving much of anything.

7. Yes it is an odd thing!
I will sometimes wake up in a ball, bent over my legs that are crossed indian style. Whenever I do that my feet end up falling asleep..LOL.

8. Wow. I've never done anything like that.
That's some tricky sleeping. I have a friend that smiles really big when he sleeps. It's so funny to look over at someone sound asleep with a big smile. He also laughs in his sleep occasionally. I've asked him...do you dream about funny things at night? He gets so embarrassed..he doesn't remember doing it.

Are you a hard sleeper?

9. I suppose I can be
When I was in the military I used to consider myself a bit hyper-vigilant. Anything would have me jumping up. Now I don't think I am like that so much. I am not hard to wake up, but I dream very vividly.

10. I'm surprised you don't wake yourself up
by getting into an indian style position.
I suffer from extreme PTSD and hyper-vigilance....sleep is a real issue for me. I feel like a certain part of my brain never gets sleep. Like it stays "on" and I always wake up tired. About two times a year I will get that part of my brain to sleep and I love life for the next day when it does.

For very vivid dreamers they say to keep a dream journal.

17. I am sorry to hear about that
I hope you will be able to get more restful sleep. :(

There are times when it feels like my brain is still going, and I can't sleep well, usually when I have a lot of tasks that need completing. Sometimes I get a song in my head that won't let me rest well.

I once woke up with both arms in the air.

I felt really good that day, too.

Anyone know what the arm thing is all about?

28. I do that when I nap
I woke up to people laughing at me.

One time I went to bed really hungry and when I woke in the morning I had a funny taste in my mouth and there was part of my quilt with a piece taken out of it and what was left was exactly the form of my teeth.
