before you have surgery educate yourself on chelation therapy.
I was using this therapy for heavy metal contamination and found that many heart patients were using it to clear their arteries. Many told me their doctor told them they did not have to have surgery as a result.
The AMA doesn't want the public to know too much about chelation with all the money made in heart surgery.

It is an intravenous injection of a solution called EDTA that chelates (binds) with toxins such as metals. One session is about 3 hours. The toxins are then eliminated in urine and defication.
All I know is that I was one sick puppy before I found out about it and it really did a smack up job of improving my health. I had been contaminated with cadmium and lead when I was in the Navy many years before. The nurse told me that she had never seen somebody with such high levels of cadmium. I got that from working with aircraft batteries on an aircraft carrier.
Now I never used it for cholesterol specifically but my endurance and circulation improved dramatically as a side effect.

Stephen Barrett makes his living as some kind of authority on all things medical. Funny thing is - he is a child psychiatrist who at this time does not have a medical license, as I understand it.
He is not an authority. I do not know his motivation but you should really investigate his behavior before recommending him for medical advice. His activities have more to do with politics and the sanctity of corporate profits, in my opinion. It is not uncommon for him to threaten lawsuits if anyone says anything against him and his opinions so I will leave it to you to investigate. Check the case of Dr. Robert Sinaiko in San Francisco. Find out how much money he has made on his threatened lawsuit tactics.
He has co-written a book with Ronald Gots, MD a so-called expert witness for corporations being sued for environmental damage that has harmed/killed people. Their book said that people claiming injury from chemical exposres are really mentally ill.
