Poll question: Sirius or XM?
Getting one or the other in the spring. Don't know which to choose! If you prefer one over the other I'd really appreciate knowing why. Thanks.

For all the reasons Im sure already got listed, but mostly AAR in full. America Left is a hackjob.

Dont get me wrong I think XM is fine for maybe even some moderate Dems... but Allen Colmes?? I mean thats insulting! At least if they had all of Randi Rhodes Id consider staying... but throw in the Howard thing and its no contest.. for the time being.

edit: speelid it rong

3. Neither.
Don't listen to radio nearly enough to justify paying for it.

4. Sirius:
1) is not owned either fully or in part by Clear Channel (owns about 50% of the radio stations, and is a Bush Ranger/Pioneer fundraiser),

2) carries Air America 24/7 (not just selected shows), and ..

3) has another progressive channel, Sirius Left, that carries Lynne Samuels, Thom Hartmann, Ed Schultz, the Young Turks, etc. and ..

4) Howard Stern is coming soon (I don't like his programming, personally, but he is anti-Bush-policy and a major advocate of free speech, and he was behind Sirius' new CEO, who is an avowed Democratic candidate and party supporter).

Have enjoyed it for a year now. No problems.

13. Does Sirius have a portable model?
I know XM has the Delphi SM MyFi. By portable I mean walking around, like a walkman.

8. Note also that Sirius...
has NPR and PRI channels, the BBC and other international news, garage band channels, Classic Radio shows and some other stuff.

And, <drumroll, please> the All Elvis Channel. A lot of football, too.

The music channels are pretty much the same, but probably have different playlists.

11. Sirius fan here!
I subscribed four months ago, and I'm just hooked.

The programming is fantastic, they carry AAR and have a dedicated "Sirius Left" channel, you get NPR exclusively, and every news channel you can think of except for MSNBC, and of course, THE NFL!!! And soon, Howard Stern, which helps to preserve Sirius' longevity as a format.

I don't really have anything against XM, but the NFL games and AAR convinced me to subscribe to Sirius and I'm not disappointed.

12. Sirius
Clear Channel has a stake in XM (forgot how much).

I'd definetely go with Sirius over XM.
