The true mark of a childless couple: we haven't opened our presents yet
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 10:36 AM by Richardo
Mrs R and I had to get the house 'company ready' (her mother and friends) and prepare Christmas dinner, so we didn;t have time on Christmas Day. Then we had to get ready for a week-long stay from her sister and our nephew. Between our work schedules, did not have time yesterday either (Plus we're just exhausted.)

So maybe this afternoon... :eyes:

Anybody else this whack? Needless to say, if we had kids it would have all been over by 5:30 AM Christmas morning.

4. Yeah, having kids takes care of that little problem real quick.
We actually were nearly done by 5:30 AM on Christmas morning. The eight year old was up at 5:00, raring to go. So we opened them up. Her sister did not come downstairs for another couple of hours, but it was basically all over REAL early.

So, what did you get Mrs. R?

6. Very practical gifts (her request)...

About the only thing I'm surprising her with is this CD:

Contains Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's beautiful, poignant version of "Over The Rainbow"

13. The practical gifts are the best kind.
It's usually what I ask for, but don't always get.

I once asked the former Mr. Bunny to get me a vacuum cleaner for my birthday, which he did. People thought that I was nuts for asking for one, and he was nuts for actually getting me what I'd asked for. It was a really great Hoover upright, fire-engine red and everything! It was a cool vacuum sweeper, if such a thing can exist.

I think he was awarded it in the divorce, too. Sigh.

Anyway, happy present-opening day to you and Mrs. R!

7. I'm opening mine this afternoon
partner and I traveled this weekend for family - got presents for everyone else but we haven't opened each others' yet. Got home late last night, out the door early today so tonight's the soonest for each other.

On the bright side, we buy each other little presents all year long, so I suppose I could just look at this as 362 days early.

11. I like to spread the holidays out
This weekend I'll have a New Year's celebration with one friend, and in a few weeks I'll exchange presents with another friend. I might just leave the tree up too till the other friend comes to visit.

12. My partner had to go to Dublin on business a couple of weeks ago
so he used frequent flyer miles and hotel bonus points so I could go to Las Vegas for 2 days while he was gone. I don't gamble a lot, but I love to walk around and people watch and see the sites. The whole trip cost about $100. That was a week before Christmas. We didn't do anything on Christmas day. Just ate and slept. :-)
