1. I will be celebrating New Years - on Dec 30th. |
|
to avoid the crowds...get into the restraunt and movie, shoot of a string of fireworks and marking up as the fireman on a New Years passenger run on our volunteer excursion railroad. I would prefer seeing the eve riding on the locomotive - but New Years wins the contest hands down.

Somehow, regardless of relationships, I've always managed to be single for both. Always.
And while a valentine from the kiddo is really wonderful, from December to Feb. 15 I still feel like a loser who is repulsive to all hetero men everywhere.

4. My birthday is a few days after Valentine's Day,so I was always forgotten. |
|
The soon-to-be ex-Mr Belle took me out for Valentine's Day once in 14 years. Before him, I only had one boyfriend around Valentine's Day that was also uneventful. I have a few fun New Year's memories at least.

5. Valentine's Day by a mile |

This holiday has no purpose, other than to boost the sales of florists, greeting card companies, and candy companies.

7. Valentines day is boring |

New years had all those cool marathons. This year the Sci-fi channel has a Twilight Zone Marathon. My favorite night of the year. I always stay home because its amateur drunk night on the roads, and I live in the metro Detroit area.

8. On Valentine's Day I watch "Mr. Wrong" |
|
and give thanks to God for all of the bad relationships which ended up going nowhere.
Being single is far better than being stuck with the wrong person.

Great soundtrack, though. Chris Issak covering Hank Williams, Sr. is not to be missed.

11. I absolutely LOATHE Valentine's Day. |
|
At least on New Year's Eve...there's a possiblity of a big group party where only for a few minutes do you feel totally left out by being single.
On Valentine's Day...not only are you surrounded by floral deliveries and cards and candy boxes (none of them for you) but you can't even go out to Dinner on that night by yourself! Every freakin' place is full of happy glazed-donut-eyed couples.
