I love DU!

Yes, I love this little home on the web where I can go and get my daily dose of information free from the filter of the right. I love that this board has moderators who make sure that each thread doesn't turn into a flamefest.

I love that I can go and look at pictures of DUers' cats and then come back and read a post by Will Pitt saying that Kerry has filed in Ohio.

I love that I can post my poetry here and watch it sink like a rock. (Well, maybe not!)

I love that Faye is so optimistic.
I love that matcom posts all of those odd headlines.
I love that eloriel and invisiableida are working their asses off to save Democracy - along with so many others.
I love that doohickie and so many others believe.
I love that ETAwful posts wonderful pictures of her cats.

I love the outpouring of love and understanding when someone loses a family member, a significant other, a friend, a pet or a job.

I love that we can argue intelligently and understand each other.

Freepers are among us but so what? We can alert on them and move on to bigger and better things.

I don't really post too much groundbreaking things. Most of my posts are "touchy feely", welcome to DU types of posts. I prefer to think of myself as a little DU cheerleader of sorts.

These next few weeks will be so hard for us because of * and his cronies. We want action and we want it now. It's hard work (LOL) saving the planet!

I just wanted to tell each of you how much this virtual family means to me.

I probably should have just kept my mouth shut and acted like I always knew it, but you know what I think it is? You strike me as being so caring and compassionate, and as open-minded as I fancy myself to be, I guess there are still some stereotypes stuck in there.

And I TOTALLY agree. And ET Awful's cat Quinn is SO damn cute it almost hurts to look at him.

I love love love this place. In fact, I just put on my DU bumper sticker today to give it more publicity. I removed an older tattered sticker and now my car wears it proudly.

I get far more out of DU than I give. Which is a shame. I need to rectify that.

but I absolutely love everyone on DU. There are some crazy posts, some funny, but I know everyone on DU loves their fellow man/woman. Deep down inside we don't hate repugs and conservatives, we are just angry at their stupid asses.:P

DU really rocks. There are some wonderful and caring people. Take it from me, I know.

DU has kept me alive many a night. Both figuratively and literally.

20. I was talking with a friend the other day about DU, mother fucker

accused me of loving DU more than my country... and I thought about it, for like 10 seconds and finally said "ya know, DU might be the only country that I have left" and before he could get a word in edgewise I added "I'd go to war for DU before I would this government thats for sure"... which isnt really saying much since Im a pacifist (barely these days, but I try) but if I really really had too...maybe. The conversation sputtered out after that, we havent talked since. So what, he voted for the people who want to destroy what I hold dear... fuck him!

I found my strength here at DU. In that strength I solidify my beliefs here at DU. With those beliefs firm and fortified each day, I face a deeply darkening world with anger, determination, truth and above all else humor... I thank you for that each day DU, whether I write it or not, its in thoughts constantly.

I love you too DU, you are my strength and heart in many struggles...I
stand inspired and joyful in the knowledge that we are not alone.
