My wild kitty has gone missing... |
|
I haven't seen her since the snowstorm hit Indiana last Wednesday. I have been feeding "Scarlet" for 3 years now, but she has never allowed me to get very close.
Parts of my neighborhood have over a foot of snow on the ground. I have 2 different shelters in my yard, but she's not in either one of them. I have confirmed my neighbors' suspicion that I was crazy, by digging out around all their sheds in case she was trapped underneath.
I'm worried that she has not had food or water for 5 days now. It is amazing how attached I have become to this feral. She is a beautiful long haired brown calico with patches of orange. I sure miss her.

1. There's a pretty good chance she is holed up somewhere else |
|
She's made it through previous winters. Hopefully she'll make her way back soon. Sorry you have to worry...

I hope she's okay. Do you have any clue how old she is? If you've been feeding her for 3 years already, there's good odds she knows how to survive the cold.
I sure hope she found herself a nice warm place to hole up.

I'm sure she's just trying to keep warm somewhere. I hope she re-emerges soon!

and a good deal of snow will melt. She'll likely make her way home tomorrow.

5. We used to do this all the time |
|
We even made an insulated house on the porch for various cats. They would come and go, even in the vicious Chicago cold (minus 20 windchill is common). She probably just found somewhere warm, and stayed there. She might even come back weeks or months from now, that's what ours did sometimes!
