The twelve hours of "Dark Star" thread.... |
|
I can go days and days without watching TV, which leads at times to odd behavior.
Today is The Twelve Hours of "Dark Star" Monday at my house. I've loaded up 12 hours of various live versions of the signature Dead song. So far nothing unusual has happened, but I do have this odd urge to dance barefoot, using large and flowing hand gestures.
On the other hand, I can't think of any other one song by any other one group that I could listen to for twelve straight hours.

5. No. John Carpenter (Director "The Thing", "Halloween") and Dan |
|
O'Bannon (writer of "Alien") made this as a film school project at the University of Maryland in the early 70's I believe. Funky sci fi comedy. Just have to see it. http://imdb.com/title/tt0069945/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxteD0yMHxzZz0xfGxtPTIwMHx0dD1vbnxwbj0wfHE9ZGFyayBzdGFyfGh0bWw9MXxubT1vbg__;fc=3;ft=21;fm=1"Guys, how could it live if it was filled with air?"

14. "Benson, Arizona, the warm wind blew your hair... |

My body sails the galaxy, my heart longs to be there..."
I thought that movie was what this thread was about. :(
An unsung science-fiction classic, like so many of John D. Carpenter's films.

Do you have Gray Folded in the mix or do you consider that cheating?
I think I'm getting a contact high just thinking about a 12 hour excursion into deep Jerry space
:hippie:
Edited to add: Good luck man. See you on the other side.

...darn it! It wouldn't be cheating...I just don't have it.
When you're on the other side, this side becomes the other side.

10. Perhaps if I dance fast enough... |
|
...I can be on all sides at once. After all, the faster I go, the rounder I get.

11. Funny you should mention it, |
|
My family gave me an ipod this year and my son (23) said that i could fill the20 gigs with Dark Star!
I think i left a few brain cells in various theaters in the 60's/70's but surely was left with an expanded worldview. The pyrotechnics as they moved into Saint Stephen wouldn't be allowed today, but were great.

in the Fox in St. Louis back in '74 or so. Spock voice: They had a curious, pulstaing dayglow property. Highly unusual.
