Ok, Bi-polar people: Im on a mood swing and Ive been up 35 straight hours |
|
I would really like to get some sleep. Help!!!
I'm crabby. Speeding around the house, between posts, like a demon. My damn hands cant keep up with my mind. And not tired, in fact I'm wired (hey, that rhymes). And I'm literally shaking in my arms and knees from excess energy.
Ive taken all my meds, including Serequel, which usual knocks my ass out. But its pretty useless in these situations. I tried going for a walk (closer to a jog, at this point) but it didn't help.
The last time I went through this I was awake for 4 days with only about 6 hours sleep. I *really* don't want to go through that again. I dont *ever* want to get the results of that unless my ass downs a hit of acid.
Ive tried laying down, a bath, listening to music nothing is helping. There really isnt much I can do but thought somebody might know something I haven't tried.
Warm thoughts, or sending good vibes my way, is also MOST appreciated.

But I don't drink coffee, In fact Ive had to cut down to only one soda a day (boo hoo) because it fucks with the lithium level ( I get lithium toxic very easy)
Of course the lithium obviously ain't working the past two days!
Thanks anyway

My mother is bi-polar (and has some other mental issues, too).
Your post so reminded me of her. Can you call your psychiatrist? You don't spend a lot of money or engage in risky behavior when you are up do you?
I feel ya on the not sleeping though. I don't know why I have insomnia.

Actually, I tried to buy a brand new car once (before the bipolar fucked up my credit) and we were ready to sign the papers, but they noticed I was acting odd. They called the friend on the app and she threatened to sue and / or kill them if they signed off on the deal.
I've done a few other things that even *I'm* embarrased about.
I'm at home alone so I should be okay. And the good news, considering most of the time Im suicidal, is that I'm "up". One must take the victories where one can find them.
I dont know much about insomnia but if its like what I go through ( exhausted but unable to sleep) then, god knows, I feel your pain.
Life's a bitch, aint it?

4. As Silly As It Might Sound..... |
|
Meditation......
It sounds crazy, I know.... but it never hurts to try.....
Get comfortable in bed, or the couch...... Then just close your eyes.... and concentrate on the sound, and the feeling of the air going in and out of your nose...... it's very simple...
At some point you "may" see (in your mind) forms, cartoons, Lord knows what... just go with it... you may think at some point why the Hell did I just think that?... then simply return to concentrating on your breathing... when ever you get distracted... bring yourself back to concentrating on your breathing... nothing more... just the feel, and or sound of your breathing.........
Soon you will relax, and eventually get tired......

"Ham" is the sound of the inward breath. "Sah" is the sound of the outward breath. Just lie down and listen to it.
