Would you kill someone for 1200 bucks?

Geez,
Some scumbag abducted a store clerk near me on Christmas eve and they just found her body today. The girls family has been holding out hope that she would be found alive and was waiting to celebrate christmas upon her return.
It happened in Winchester,TN which is one county away from me. I don't understand why scum like this can't have a little bit of humanity and just leave the store without abducting somebody and putting a bullet in her head. If the reason she was killed was she knew the criminal, why couldn't they just rob a store where they were unknown? My state (Tennessee) still has the death penelty and when they catch this scumbag I hope we use it.
The girl was 20 years old and had a full life ahead of her, all ended for 1200 dollars.
