Lifetime is so funny
The crappy movies are strangely entertaining. Much like a crappy informercial is entertaining at 3am.

1. I got sucked into one yesterday.....
I'm not sure what it was called. It was about a 16 year old cheerleader dating a married 35 year old man with 2 kids :eyes:

24. No
But it turns out that the person trying to kill her all along is not his wife but her best friend's sister who she'd been confiding in.

This one had a blonde girl who was very pretty, and she is in a lot of those lifetime movies......I am gonna look it up and see if I can find it!

4. My brother and I used to watch it
You had two choices: pick the gay man in the closet, or pick the psycho that will kill at least one major character. We got pretty good at spotting each after a while.

9. Wasn't it?
Asking her grandfather to be her special daddy. God, it traumatized our psych class, but it was very interesting, we actually saw the HBO documentary with the real girl first, the acting was so bad in that movie, it was funny, I forget one of the lines but it cracked up our class because it was so bad.

the movie about the two anorexic girls, and does anyone remember the two or more movies starring Tori Spelling. She was a hooker in one. Great stuff.:bounce:

12. yeah!
This is so sad that I recognize most of the movies people post on. The anorexic one w/ Lynda Carter and the girl who dies of a heart attack? Also, I totally have to agree w/ you about Tori Spelling. Anything w/ her equals gold and by gold I mean crap.

11. You know, I get sucked into those cheesefests fairly often.
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 06:30 PM by Left Is Write
And I agree with you - oddly compelling and entertaining, much like an infomercial when one can't sleep. Express 101, anyone?

Anyway. I got sucked into one last week called "The Devil's Child" with Dana Delaney. It turned out to be a massive disappointment.

17. I watched the "Michelle Brown" identity theft one while visiting my...
folks. Found it interesting the facts that were changed in this story in order to make Brown even MORE sympathetic:
from an international banker to an elementary school teacher
Brown was actually detained after returning from a 2 week vacation in Cabo San Luca (not a weekend seminar at a progressive school)

I also watched a "baby mix-up drama" with Roseanna Arquette and Melissa Arquette. The source material would have lent itself to an uproarious black comedy. Ah, if only Joe Orton could have come back from the dead and gotten hold of it!

20. Sucks is purely the operative word here...
...along with cheesy.

They do suck you in...they are cheesy...and when you finally decide to remove them from your remote's memory, it's a wonderful thing.

I never, ever, ever let myself get sucked in any more. It's like Lifetime no longer exists.

41. How about "Sweet Dreams"? I swear I've seen that one three times.
Tiffani-Amber Thiessen as a young woman who loses her memory after a fall and is helped by the local sheriff, played by A Martinez. A young couple (the wife played by John Ritter's widow, Amy Yasbeck) purports to "help" her...but then we learn the horrible secret behind that young couple.....

Yeah, I'm pathetic too.

36. Didja know....
There's a Lifetime MOVIE channel--can you imagine? Showing those damsels in distress shit day and night...isn't that entertainment in hell? Satan's maniacal laughter echoing in your ears, while, ala Clockwork Orange, you're strapped to your seat with the prongs keeping your eyes open....

I swear to you, I'd rather watch Spike or ESPN than Lifetime--and I have 2 X chromosomes!

"Television for Women"? Gawd, hasn't our gender suffered enough? Gimme labour (birthing twins) any day!!!

It's godawful to be sure and I don't find any redeeming value to these "movies" other than to make fun of the sheerly incompetent "filmmaking"

Spike has its moments like MXC and Joe Schmo
