I wish I was a cat . . .
So I could enjoy simple pleasures like sleeping all day, getting free food, getting free delicious treats like dried fish (I think the stuff reeks to high heaven, but Quinn and Althea adore it), not to mention that whole licking yourself in public thing.

Of course, you can also get attention any time you like by just walking up the closest compassionate human and purring at him or her.

Ah, it must be a wondrous thing to be a kitty :)

1. But you'd also have to lick your ass and eat cat food.
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 07:46 PM by Shakespeare
Every trade-out has its price! ;-)

edit for clarity: the licking your ass thing is above and beyond general cat grooming. Just about the time I'll have a thought similar to yours, and rationalize by thinking that the grooming wouldn't be THAT bad, one of my cats will hike his rear leg over his head and go to work. It does give one pause.

2. Being an adopted cat can be wonderful
But what if you were a homeless kitty? Are you crying yet?

8. Then I'd be like Thomas O'Malley, did you ever see the Aristocats?
He was a real charmer. He charmed that housecat so much she took him home and made her humans accept him :)

Yup, that's me, Thomas O'Malley, O'Malley the Alley Cat :)

other day. Now I can't get that damned Thomas O'Malley song out of my head :)

15. I've actually got the movie in my Neflix queue so I can see it again :)
Plus, by getting it from Netflix, it saves me the whole single guy renting cartoons stigma at the local vid store :) n/t

26. I think he did Little John
in Robin Hood too. These days we use David Ogden Stiers (M*A*S*H-and BTW; that was typecasting!) for damn near everything. Some people just won't leave the studio lot. ;-)

3. If you were a cat, I'd bring you catnip everyday
and then take pictures of you wallowing around in your catnip to post at DU. :)

19. Is it just me, or . . .

Does Althea look like she should be holding a drink in her right paw and a cigarette holder in her left paw in this picture? :)

I just get this image of like a 40's movie star :)

4. I'd love being a cat
I wouldn't know who * is, much less care what he's doing, and just basically have a carefree life. When I'd get fustrated, I'd remedy it by clawing up a piece of furniture. That's what MY cats do to solve boredom, anyway.

5. I've re-arranged the blanket on my lap so that my cat
is comfortable, and am trying not to move to much so that I don't disturb his nap.

Yes, my cats won the kitty lottery. I should be half as lucky.

14. Hehehe, I do that for Althea all the time (Quinn isn't much of a lap cat)
I'll try not to move after she gets comfortable. Somehow, she senses when I need to get up most of the time, and before I even move, she looks up at me, sighs, and moves off my lap :).

6. I'm a cat and it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Nothing changes. Same saliva covered cat toy. Sleeping 20 hours a day. And these ear mites are bothering the shit out of me.

I'm just waiting until moth season. At least I'll have something to stalk other than my master's back hair (which doesn't move much i'll tell you what)

16. I just ordered "kitty videos"
for my ultra-spoiled rescue litter (now 4 years old).

They go out in the yard for "supervised playtime". I kid you not. Escape attempts are few (we cat-proofed the yard) and they are promptly foiled.

It has been raining for the past few days. The kids are driving us nuts with their piteous meowing by the kitchen door. So yesterday I ordered two Kitty Videos, "BUGS" and the popular followup "BIRDS". That ought to keep them occupied on indoor play days.

God, I hope this works....

18. LOL . . . you've gotta be kidding me :)
Kitty videos? My two would LOVE those, they spend a lot of time looking out the window right now, and they loved chasing my mouse cursor on the screen, they'd go ape over a bug video :).

22. here's the URL
http://www.kittyshow.com/

Their newest DVD, soon to be released, is code named "Squiggles".

Cleo-Mio, the Calico Bane of Ashcroft, hopes it is about MICE.

Actually I thought it was KKKarl's pet name for Katherine Blackwell :-)
