Who here likes liver?
I love liver - fried with lots of onion and green pepper. Even liverwurst is good -- on some of that ground sunflower type German bread. And chicken liver omeletes -- very good! You cook the livers in a very thickly seasoned tomato sauce and serve it over fluffy scrambled eggs.

Got liver? :toast:

and the bacon, nice touch. I haven't don't that but it sounds great!

Here's the recipe for chicken liver omelettes:

--2 cans 8-oz tomato paste
--2 cans 8-oz. tomato sauce (or 1 16-ounce)
--1 16-oz. can stewed tomatoes
--red wine: 1/2 to 1 cup (the more the better for me)
--dash soy sauce (enough salt already with the canned tomato stuff)
--dash kitchen bouquet or worschester (sp?) The worschester adds
a nice bitter flavor to cut so much tomato.
--chopped onions and garlic to taste (the more the better for me)

--chicken livers: as desired, to place in the sauce.

1) Saute onions and garlic in olive oil.
2) Add tomato sauce ingredients
3) Add seasonings: oregano, bay leaf and the rest to taste
4) Flash fry the chicken livers and add to tomato sauce.

Cook the sauce first for awhile, as you would any tomato sauce, and then flash-fry the chicken livers and add to the sauce. This is best over very fluffy scrambled eggs, but whatever you prefer. It's excellent.

Liver is so inexpensive which is another bonus.

20. Liver is NASTY, VILE
substance that mothers inflict on their sons at a young age and traumatize their taste buds with. I hate the stuff, but my mother swore that I ate the vile stuff until I was 6. I probably did, but would have to be on death's door step to eat any of it now. Unfortunately my wife loves chicken livers and once in a while she will torment me by calling in a take out order from a little diner near us. Then I have to go pick them up and have their reeking smell in my car for the next 24+ hours....SO I guess I DO NOT LIKE LIVER! End of rant.....
