My freepen grandfather has been at war with the squirrels and the bird feeder. I asked him why it matters what sort of animals benefit from his charities, he said he wants bird around, thats why he put the feeder up.
I am exactly the opposite, I wish they made squirrel feeders. All the birds around here look the same... we did get a cardinal once though.
My friend had a squirrel that he almost domesticated, he would come up to his door every day and scratch on the storm door, my friend would spread some peanut butter on bread and go out on his porch for a sit down, feed the animal, and it would usually come up on his lap to eat. I've never seen it as the one time I did see the squirrel come I made it skittish.
He claims it slept in his lap once.
I want a pet squirrel :(
