1. I cant drink
My body doesnt properly break down alcohol so I just end up real sick and practically unable to get drunk.

So, yeah.

4. Pot or Alcohol
As a recovering addict with just over 7 months of clean time, I personally will say neither. But the thing is, that's my PERSONAL choice. The fact that there are thousands of people out there who can either/or drink or smoke socially and not have a problem with either substance should not be ignored. The fact that we can make criminals out of people for possessing small amounts of pot is ludicrius. There has to be more important things for our law enforcement agencies to do, don't you think?

5. Both!!!
Nothing like a good buzz with a good high! Shit, I'll have a couple beers and a joint and it's a happy time for a few hours!

I find I drink less when high, which is good to control my functional alcoholism. Hummm....probably not a good idea to fight one addiction with another...I might want to work on that one next week.

10. I've gotta say
the one time where I really felt a high, the beer I had after, tasted GREAT!

So, I'd say, if you can control yourself, and if your body can handle it, smoke a little, drink a little, don't drive, and enjoy the effects of both.

11. Pot
Alcohol is an evil drug that most people seem to think is no big deal. Pot, which is illegal and often tested for in employment, isn't as evil.
It can be bad for some people to become regular heavy pot users, but it usually doesn't do the physical damage that regular heavy alcohol use does.

12. My answer was neither
but not because I'm a prude. I can't tolerate alcohol - I get a headache before I even finish a glass of wine and as a Celiac, I can't have beer and hard alcohol never did it for me. Pot always gave me a skin crawling feeling - creepy. No, I need a better drug.

These days I'm doing some life. What a trippy thing that is!

I like to remain in control. I like a little alcohol in moderation never to excess and pot gave me panic attacks so I quit that 20 plus years ago.

That happened to me. I was into it for quite awhile and all of a sudden I would get major panic attacks and had to quit. I would still get them for a good year after I quit.

Since I'm currently stranded in a red state far away from my people I'm having to make do with copious amounts of wine, but I much prefer weed. I don't feel so logey the next morning, plus boy does it make that show "The Planet's Funniest Animals" really entertaining.

31. Yeah. It does nothing for me but make me feel slow and sluggish.
It gives me a headache. There is nothing even remotely pleasurable for me with pot.

Even if there were pleasure, I wouldn't smoke it anyway. I gave up cigarettes six and a half years ago. I don't smoke anything.

36. Slow and sluggish huh?
This is the reason why I smoke pot everyday, at the end of my day. I'm hyper as hell. Pot helps me slow down and relax. I don't smoke pot as a social thing. In fact I get paranoid being around others when I'm high, unless I'm around really really around close friends. I smoke pot in the privacy of my own home, by myself.

38. I understand the need to relax and unwind after a frenzied day.
And I've been known to use a glass of red wine for that purpose.

But I don't like the thick-headed, fuzzy, underwater kind of sluggishness I get from pot. I never liked it. I smoked it many years back to be social, but decided one day it was stupid of me to indulge in a product I did not enjoy just to be sociable.

I guess it may sound sanctimonious, but if you need something to alter your state to escape the reality of your life, you need to fix that reality.

57. MAY sound? Lol...
Not everyone who enjoys pot or alcohol is trying to escape reality. That's the part that sounds sanctimonious. :)

There are all kinds of ways to "escape reality," including self-delusion.

Personally, I prefer chocolate and jasmine tea, but I enjoy the occasional toke or pint of Guinness.

Cheers!

45. Neither, but I won't pass judgement on y'all
I smoked grass on occasion when I was a teenager and in my early twenties. I was a heavy drinker as soon as I turned 21 and up until a month ago. I'm 32 now. I had to give up the booze partly because of some medication I have to take and partly because it was getting out of hand. Technically I can still have a few, but the words 'few' and 'beers' don't usually come out of my mouth in the same sentence, so I decided it was best just to give it up.

47. Depends.
On a regular basis, a couple of drinks are nicer. On rare occasion when you know you have a few days to really sober up, it's nice to fire up a joint. I haven't had one in three years. Way too busy to slow down that much for that long...
