No one's gonna care about this but.....
in a fit of post-Christmas boredom, I bought the sequel to Bridget Jones' Diary, called Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. I never read the first book, but I saw the movie and what's there to know? It's not like it's great literature or something.

I now have NO idea why I bought it. I hate it. The style of writing, with the constant mentioning of the time the little two-sentence entry was written, is jarring to me. And HOW is she writing constant updates in her diary when she is SKIING? It's so melodramatic and I know Helen Fielding might have been poking fun at this type of person, but damn, it gets old fast.

Also, the constant navel-gazing with regard to relationships and dating is something I have v. v. little patience for (v. is her abbreviation for "very," isn't it PRECIOUS? She uses it a LOT).

Another thing: the cover has a picture of Renee Zellwegger. I have nothing against the woman, but her mouth......well, it looks....constipated. And it grosses me out everytime I see it, which is everytime I pick up the book.

So anyone who wants it for free, PM me your address and I will mail it to you post haste. Seriously, I will. I have a big brown envelope all ready to go.

2. I hated the first book
I thought it was me, because it was the only book I had to read while on a flight from Heathrow to Seattle and I felt trapped by it. I wanted to beat the author with my carry-on by the time I got off the flight.

8. True.
If I get no takers, that is exactly what I'm doing, and it's in great condition, I only bought it two days ago!

(I got up to page 94 by the way. If I read anymore I will open a vein.)
