What is the deal with airline peanuts?

1. I have not had a airline peanut in years

it is always pretzels

2. I think they are designed to be undesirable.

That way you won't open the package, and the airline can give them to the next passenger. Saves money.

has gone to honey roasted peanuts because they have wheat gluten so I can't eat them.

mainly due to peanut alergies.

Some people have very severe reactions even being near peanuts.

I personally liked the hunny roasted peanuts more than pretzuls.
