Ready for another tale of repukelican hypocrisy boys and girls? |
|
Well gather round. Don't be scared. Let's sit in the story circle.
There's this couple we know. Very well-known in our community. Very involved in a lot of things, not the least of which would be the Dallas County republican party. We don't know them as well as others do, but we've attended many a social function where they have held court.
WELL. The husband (let's call him Rick) is a big time honcho in the Promise Keepers. He has written many a letter to the editor and guest column in our local rag (Dallas Morning News) about the importance and SANCTITY of marriage. He has totally ripped up celebrities caught cheating and has never missed an opportunity to tear down other people accused of (and guilty of) cheating on their spouses. He is a deacon in his Baptist church.
Well, my little loungies, can you guess where this is going? I bet you can! WHO can guess what was recently revealed about Rick?
Yep! He has not one, not two, but THREE girlfriends concurrently while married to his wife of 18 years. None of the three women apparently knew about the other, but this all came out when one of them accused him of being the father of the baby she is pregnant with. He cried foul, having been "snipped" several years ago. She threatened to go public, he called her bluff and she did it. Which drew the attention of the OTHER two girlfriends (um and his wife). Let's put it this way: there were ACTUAL physical fights between two of the three women at a recent holiday party where they ran into each other, in Irving. Ahem.
The long and the short of it, loungies? You know the lesson, but the repukes obviously have not learned it. Don't be a freaking hypocrite. If you go around getting up on your soapbox and lecturing people on how to live their lives you better make DAMN sure yours is SQUEAKY clean!
Oh and the three affairs (how the HELL did he get the energy?) are now being said to be the reason the wife is addicted to prescription painkillers. As in, she "suspected" about them and it was making her miserable. I have no doubt she suspected. With three girlfriends, he couldn't have been around much.
The really rich part is, he is apparently still (as of now) giving some workshops through his church on how to stay faithful and happily married.

Why would anyone attend his lectures? Obviously, he is a thorough hypocrite.

I don't know how well-attended they'll be NOW, but he was making money hand over fist for himself and his church for his $150 a pop sessions/workshops before.
What REALLY goads me is he'll probably pull a Sobbing Jerry Falwell act, begging for other fundies forgiveness and will start a new series of workshops on forgiveness and they'll just fall all over themselves paying to go to THOSE.

Hypocrisy really sickens me. It has to be the worst offense.
(Okay, obviously, murder is worse, but hypocrisy ranks right up there.)

3. I can deal with human failings. |
|
That's just part of being, well, human.
But hypocrisy? That's practically an ultimate sin.
I wonder how much of the republicans' success can be attributed to their apparent ability to amorally juggle two completely opposed ideas.

They seem to be the Masters of "do as I say, not as I do" which I have zero respect for.
I was taught that you look at a person's actions MORE than their words. You can spew out words all day, but what do you DO?
Oh and I hear ya on the human failings. If someone cheats on their spouse, it isn't for me to judge (um, except if that person is Mr. Bouncy! LOL!). It's honestly none of my business! But if that same person has practically created a cottage industry on tearing down others who have done EXACTLY what they are doing, huh-uh, that's not cool.

I once told a guy I was dating I wish he weren't so much of a slut and he laughed his ass off. If a guy had said that to me, grrrrrrr.

think he's a good man, this just shows how we are all weak sinners, LOL, and they are still ponying up money to this guy? Too damn funny if it weren't even more sad...
I mean, when Jim Bakker (sp?) and Jimmy Swaggart were busted for whoring around etc., I always figured, okay, now you are busted as a hypocrite. It's cool, just go crawl under a rock now and never be seen again, that's all. No tears of contrition or smarmy speeches please.
But no, there is no shame in these people.

Anyone who can have a wife and 3 girlfriends and still be able to draw people to listen to his "how to have a happy marriage" is obviously doing something right. Full of shit, you bet, but what an incredibly glorious asshole he must be.

Asshole, I'll grant you, glorious? Well, I've met this guy and chatted with him a few times. He's a lech. He rolls his eyes all over any woman within five feet of him. The whole time I talked to him the first time I met him, his eyes didn't wander above my collar bone.

29. I used to be shy but I trained myself out of it |
|
and two years ago I was having a conversation with an acquaintence who couldn't seem to take his eyes off my chest. I have an autistic child so I've gotten quite comfortable with physical guidance. So, I reached out my index finger, placed it under his chin, lifted his chin and said, "When we're talking, I would rather you looked at my face not my breasts." He turned beet red and I suspect he got much better about that little habit.

I once told a guy "Hey, they don't talk." It took him about two beats to understand what I said.
I can't blame them. But I DO have a face and eyes up north.

My daughter has a t-shirt that says, "I'm up here," with an arrow pointing up.
When I was in college, we had a coach we all called Coach Lech. One of my friends, the shy type, was very uncomfortable with the way he always talked to her chest. So, I told her to talk to his crotch.
She did, and he got very uncomfortable, cutting the conversation short. He was so dumb, he probably did not get it, or understand fully why he felt uncomfortable.

Have you ever been to his workshop? maybe having 3 chics on the side is part of his teachings on staying happily married. as far as staying faithful. if a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, did it fall?
the key is to SAVE THE FAMILY!! and men have neeeeeds! just ask Bill O'leilly he will tell you all about it. over the phone of course.
