Threada Pathetica! Vent yer guilt, embarassments, faux pas here!

Ok, so recently...

I hijacked several threads, I killed many more and I even went so far as to gratuitously kick many of my own threads (and yes I will shamelessly kick this one as well). Yes thats typical but I start with minor stuff first.

I also got pointedly talked to by different DUers about my flaws of and on posting, on threads were I felt everyone could see me nekkid!

Lastly I let my insecurities show way too much on numerous occasions and that gets my goat. I hate it when I get like that... truly an embarassing trait. Sorry to all those who had to endure (yes there were many of you, :) )

Oh I also farted at the Christmas party. I was well away from anyone but as soon as it happened two of my daughters friends came up and started talking to me, for a very very short period of time! They were gracious about it to my face though...

There ya go... anyone else wish to get there stuff off their minds? Trust me it feels great!

Actually I haven't screwed up too much lately, but about a month ago I made an error. Somebody posted how they hated the holiday season and I got the impression that that was because they were all alone. So I posted a reply and offered to send them a Christmas gift if they would pm me their address. Well it turns out that the person was in a happy relationship and was just missing her children who she lost in a divorce. I was kind of embarrassed, but I figured oh well.

16. Speaking of which

You reminded me of those two Buddhist monks I went to visit last night. They did some chanting at the beginning of the evening and I really enjoyed that. At the end of the evening one of the monks gave me a cd that had chanting on it. I told them that I really enjoyed their chanting and that I thought it sounded nice. One of ther monks looked down at the floor, smiled and his face turned pink. The guy was so modest. I wonder if anyone had ever complimented them before and if I had made some sort of cultural mistake by doing that.

because it can inflate the ego, or be a form of flattery meant to inflate the ego. Or more than likely he was pleased with what you said and was just holding it in check.

Remember ego to us is like a cloth cobweb of emotion that is always clamoring for our attention, thus it gets in the way of true and pure thought which is usually the goal of meditation. Even these words I write you are somewhat distractive in regards to ego.

I should not be giving unsolicted advice on matters of any nature let alone spiritual, yet here I gave it. I feed my ego... blah.

6. I just killed a kids eagle scout application

from the boy scout troop i lead. I feel bad about it.

I'm not familiar with the boyscouts and their rules and regs.

He was still short a couple of requirements for one badge and I wouldn't backdate everything so that it looked like it was done before his birthday.

22. No, because the night before I took my mini-vacation

there was a lot of negativity around DU, and it was rubbing off on me. It was good to be away for a few days, I think.

The visit with the inlaws was fine - we had a nice Christmas.

We all react in our own ways to tragedy, as long as youre not perpetrating hurt upon someone, there should hardly be a problem.

If you upset someone wait for emotions to subside and show your heartfelt dissapoinment to that person.
