What should I make for dinner?
I have chicken breast, broccoli, parmesan cheese, a little cheddar, bread crumbs, half an onion, carrots, sherry, a regular assortment of spices, garlic jelly, rice, pasta, milk, beer.

I'm willing to pick up $5 or less worth of stuff on the way home.

I'm sick of stir-fry. I'm sick of chicken finger.

Give me a recipe!

Thanks!

:hi:

1. We're Having Filet!!!
My wife just called to tell me not to dawdle at work because she's making filets on the grill. (It's over 50 degrees here today in Chicagoland.)

I'm already salivating. Hope your stir fry turns out ok. My wife and i still haven't figured that out just yet. Never tastes like what we had in mind.

7. If You Can Be Here By 4pm Central Time
Sure! Come on over. When you land at O'Hare, ring me. I'll give you directions. It only takes 90 minutes from the airport.

Oh. I just looked at the time. I guess you can't come over, after all.

5. How about a chicken parm with a side of melody of veggies.
if you want you can include some pasta. You don't say if you have any sauce, but I find just some oil and garlic (I like the garlic raw) makes a rocking sauce.

12. Parmesan Chicken Breasts...
Mix 1/4 c of parmesan with 3/4 c. bread crumbs.

Whisk an egg. Dip the chicken breasts in the egg, and then roll them in the parmesan/bread crumbs mixture (you can salt/pepper to your taste).

Put the chicken breasts in a skillet and bake at 375 for about 45 minutes.

Serve with potatoes and gravy or any side dish you like. This recipe is easy and delish!

15. here is another one that we like
start the pasta water

saute the onions and garlic and set aside
saute the broccoli and set aside
you can julienne the carrots and saute them lightly and set aside

in same pan, saute the chicken breast (cut it up first if you like)and add a little butter and the sherry ..cook until done.

OK by now the pasta is either done or ready to cook. Once the pasta is done, drain it, place in a nice big bowl, recombine all the other ingredients and then pour over the pasta and toss.

garnish with parmesan cheese

I make this with asparagus or summer squash too.
Mushrooms are a nice touch

If you want to, you can make a cream sauce:

heat a cup of milk in the microwave to hot but don't boil it
melt 1 1/2 tbsp of butter in the skillet and add 1 1/2 tbsp of flour to the hot melted butter. quickly stir it up until the flour is cooked, try to not let this get brown at all. Add the hot milk all at once and stir with a whisk until well blended and smooth. If it is too thick you can add a little more milk, or the juices in the chicken and vegetables will thin it out. Add the white sauce to the chicken and vegetables before you pour it over the pasta.

While cooking you can add any number of herbs to this to make it tasty.Basil is always nice, shallots are helpful, parsley and oregano; whatever you like. Even a touch of curry powder.
