We have several openings at the federal government agency I work for, all in the Washington, DC metro area. If you're interested, PM me with your email address and I'll send you links to the vacancy announcements.
They are good paying jobs in a small agency.

Mrs. V. keeps her eyes peeled for job openings for so many people, it's a wonder we don't have an emergency eye bath in our house . . . ;)

You can never underestimate the kindness of the DU community! (despite the copycats and hurt feelings over said copycats) Seriously, VERY COOL of you!

5. Do they require a degree? |
|
My brother's been out of full-time work for 4 years. His last position was as a troubleshooter for hospital computer systems. But he's not had much formal training.

8. No, Not If One Has Sufficient Experience |
|
It won't hurt for your brother to try. You just never know what the hiring manager might see in a resume to perk up interest.

It's a good agency to work for. I hope some of my DU buddies will have some good luck with these jobs.

Do you have to work on site or would they hire someone to work remotely? I'm in Florida, in IT and am interested...
Thanks!

All the jobs are in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. You can keep an eye out for jobs your way via www.opm.gov for all agencies, or, at www.gsa.gov for my agency. You would look for jobs in Region 4 for Florida locations.

Maybe one of these days the federal government will learn to write in plain English. We are still pretty much stuck in bureaucratese. Let me know if you need any help decifering them.

Finding IT jobs is damn hard work. It took me two years to find another job after being laid off.
Eventhough I found one, I appreciate your offer of help. :hi: I hope someone does find a job through this.
