Uggh. All my credit cards were stolen today.

At work in a gov building no less. The thieves sifted through my wallet and only took credit cards. They were kind enough to leave my debit cards, my metrocard, driver's license, and cash. They promptly hit up CVS and grocery stores to the tune of a couple thousand. Bastards. :mad:

Cancelled all the cards and got the fraud alert on my credit, but what a pain in the ass.

...but it's odd behavior for your usual thief, who's after goodies they lack, or can sell for cash.

CVS and grocery stores? Whoever lifted these cards was a truly desperate person, like a modern Jean Valjean, IMHO.

7. Well I realized that our grocery stores sell gift cards for other stores

My companies immediately put hold on the cards, so it was an easy way for them to get more than they might otherwise.

5. At Least They Didn't Get Your Debit Card

Credit-card theft is relatively easy to rectify with the CC company. Banks aren't nearly so cooperative when the thieves are spending YOUR money :mad:
