My yard looks like green snow

I have African Sumac trees in my yard, this is the time for them to drop whatever it is they dropping. My yard is completely filled with small green flakes. That stuff is itchy too.

1. Green against brown always looks good, doesn't it?

Are they dropping petals from blooms or leaves or other? Don't know this tree. Will have to do a search. Always interested in new trees.

2. Is this your tree? This site says they bloom in January

and February in Southern Arizona. So what is yours dropping now?

3. That's my tree

Just hate this time of year... the stuff falls from the tree anywhere from middle of December to middle of January. I guess it depends on the weather. The droppings are wicked stuff. Then, during the summer the leaves fall off like it was autumn. I would like to get rid of the two trees but they do provide necessary shade during our hot summer months.

Whatever the trees are dropping look like tiny green snowflakes.
