None of my trees dropped any acorns this fall. It's not just me, many here on Long Island had no acorns. Did you have acorns where you live?

Actually, when I think about it, the number of acorns was smaller this year.

And I did have berries on a few older hollies before the birds or something got to them.

On edit, sometimes the horses will eat them. maybe squirrels or something got to them quickly? I'm not up on that whole oak tree/ rodent cycle, but maybe someone on DU knows?

4. Very few
Long Island here also. We had very few acorns this year, usually they're everywhere, always crackling underfoot.

6. Long Island is pretty ritzy there Gothic Sponge
what does it mean though, not having acorns? I mean, is it a sign of something other than...

7. I don't know about ritzy, but it does cost much to live here.
Thanks for the link.

I've been putting out bird seed in my yard for the birds/squirrels. I don't want to see them starve over the winter.

It's a hard hat area around my house every fall - one of those things falling from 30 feet up could go through your skull!
