What do you sleep with?
Not who. The subject is bedding.

I like cotton sheets. I don't really like flannel - even in the winter. No blankets, just my down duvet. Lots of pillows.

22. I also sleep under a quilt.
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 01:44 AM by Cobalt Violet
I doubled the extra-loft batting so it's a double extra-loft quilt.
It has spoiled me. I also have sheets, cats, and pillows. And at 1:42 am I'm ready for bed after this thread.

9. My bed is my heaven on earth
I have a Swedish foam Mattress with a thick foam pad on top. Cotton sheets at least 300 thread count. Down Pillows -at least 6 on my king sized bed. Down comforter with a chenille duvet cover. Plus I have my "little man" a sack of shells and herbs which smells like cinnamon which I microwave and put in the bed before we get in. I also have a SO and two dogs in there too.

39. I admit I am colored by the present condition
I am being biased based on the weather here NOW... snowy outside. The suggestion of warm sheets out of the dryer sounded good. Far better to have the cool sheets and a warm body close by. ;-)

But clean, crisp, and cool... that has virtues too. One cannot be a sheet hog without flexibility. :-)

15. 250 thread count minimum cotton sheets
(sorry but I just can't take that burlap called 180 count). A comforter and a couple of blankets on top of that if it is particularly cold.

I have ONE pillow. One. I sleep with a furry guy who likes about oh, 700 pillows or so, which drives me bonkers. He takes up maybe 80% of our king sized bed with all his damn fucking pillows. It's like a wall or a fortress made of pillows. Sorry, you said not who, but I have to mention him because of his pillow fetish. He also likes to spoon, but he doesn't do it right! He thinks spooning involves just flinging his arms and legs on top of me and using me like a body pillow. Meanwhile, because of his dead weight, I can't breathe or move and I am already claustrophobic. Then he keeps twitching while trying to get to sleep, while having his heavy arms and legs all over me, while having pillows up my ass because there are too many and a kitty curled up in my armpit. GRRRR. Is it ANY wonder I stay up until all hours of the night just trying to avoid that?

Can you tell I currently have bed partner issues? :-)

20. So what you're saying is that you're having pillow fights?
A pillow person can be reformed somewhat. I use 3 now. I use to have about 9 or 10 on my bed.

21. God I hope so.
After he falls asleep, I take several off the bed. He sleeps really hard so he never notices. Then he wakes up in the morning and only has a few as opposed to the few thousand he fell asleep with.

Not only that, they aren't even normal sized pillows, they are those HUGE King length ones. One time he readjusted one he was using under his head and the length of it flopped over to my side and smacked me right in the face because I happened to be on my back.

Now granted, a pillow doesn't really hurt, but I was in that moment of ALMOST being completely asleep.

Damn this is really one of my pet peeves about him.

Did I also mention he sounds like Darth Vader having an asthma attack and that's when he's NOT snoring hard enough to peel the paint off the walls?

26. How do men manage to make that much noise?
My dad sometimes kept me up from across the hall. I don't know how my mother EVER got any sleep.

You may need to get militant. Masking tape down the centre of the bed. Whack him with the pillow before you toss it off.

K - I'm getting flashbacks to car trips with my brother.

34. I want two king sized beds pushed against each other but
our bedroom isn't big enough unless we rearrange the furniture. Then if we do that and put two king sized beds in there it really will be a BEDroom. It'll be all bed. Just step in the room, get up on bed.

At least then I can get away from the Pillow Orgy a bit.

16. In the winter or summer ?
In the winter i like the scrunchy comfort of some R19 fiberglass insulation by Itchco.Inc. A pre-heated water bed filled with rice pudding makes for a restfull surface, then top it off with some of those huge stuffed animals you win at carnys ( for a huge investment ) as pillows........mmmmmm keeps you warm on those chilly nights.
For those Summer months i forgot because it's cold and i itch all over right now.

30. 350+ thread count (or better) Cotton
It's one of my few luxuries. Although I'm not bothered by flannel... it's really much better to me than a low tc cotton (which feels like sandpaper to me). I just like the way cotton is so cool in the untouched areas. You can always move a leg onto "fresh" real estate if you're slightly too warm.

3 pillows.

Occasionally I will allow a lower thread count sheet to appear on my bed, but I really like the high count stuff!

Oh yeah, a couple of pillows, too. One sorta soft and one a little firmer.
