Celebrating an anniversary with the girlfriend, and we're going somewhere for 6 nights/5 days to somewhere... but we can't really decide where to go.

We're going in mid-April, and I'm just looking for something pleasant, (we live in ND. It's cold here, so Alaska, Canada, or Minnesota are probably out.)

Anyone have any good ideas?

1. Whatever you do
do not come to Jeb's World.

I wish that Dems has stopped coming to Florida after 2002.

2. Depending how far you want to travel.....Williamsbug Va.....is always
nice in the spring when the plants start blooming. Wm & Mary college nearby ensures college people frequently nightly activities at some of the taverns. Should be able to find a few getaway packages. Don't know if your into history or not but just walking about this 18th century city is relaxing and interesting. Nearby is Virginia Beach , Jamestown and Yorktown Battlefield. You never know what your going to see when your there. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities nearby, outlet stores & the famous pottery. Golfing and other activities also. Excellent dining too.

6. Here's some ideas
Eureka Springs and Hot Springs Arkansas offer charm and low prices compared to the typical tourist traps. Eureka is a charming town set on a series of hills, and has neat shops and lovely vistas. Both offer hot baths, but the ones at Hot Springs come from natural hot springs. There are numerous fountains around town where you can fill up water jugs with the mineral water, and it is free. It is also the boyhood home of Bill Clinton, which you drive past when you go down the main drag into town. Nearby are the crystal mines of Mt. Ida, and a little further south is the only diamond mine in North America at Murphreesboro. It's a state park, and you can go hunt diamonds for a small fee, and you can keep whatever you find. Personally, I take home the clay that is there-seems to help heal cuts.

If you'd like a relaxing time doing some pretty unique things, this might be where to go.
