Does anyone else forget to drink?
Yesterday night, I was on the phone and I realized that the only liquid I had consumed all day were as follows:

1 cup of tea
1 bowl of soup (the broth)
a bit of water when I had brushed my teeth

3. I got a facial before Christmas
and I was scolded for my dehydrated state.

The sad part is that I love water. I just forget to drink.

I poured myself a big (16 oz) glass this morning and I am half-way through it.

2. My husband forgets to drink water.
He drinks coffee and Cokes but very little H2O. He's had kidney stones so you'd think he be better about water intake. I make him drink water while I watch him. The last (uninsured) kidney stone episode cost over $2,000 at the emergency room.

4. Not me! I swear I spend half my life peeing.
I drink about 10 cups of green tea and about 1/2 gallon of water a day.

I brag about a bladder of steel, perhaps it's just empty.

It makes road trips go faster.

9. wow YVR, yeah we sure this trait big time!
I have a bladder that is lockable for long periods of time, I forget to drink all the time! Ill have a cup of coffee in the morning and will not drink anything else till after midnight, usually because Im posting hardcore on DU!!

Ive heard that this sort of behavior can lead to stones or other health problems though... so we should try to pay more attention and drink more.... tequilla that is !

12. I know it's bad for me
It can take me all day to finish a latte. I love them, I just get distracted by other things.

I know it's terrible for me. I love salty things too, which makes it worse.

I'm not sure that tequilla is helping matters at all, but why no die happy.

10. Yes
I frequently forget to eat and drink... but I force myself to drink the 8 per day by keeping water around at all times, and ensuring I don't fall behind. When I slip up and do what you just described, I usually jump up and go chug a couple glasses.

11. Yeah...
Though not quite as extreme as you... I can definitely go a whole day and realize that I've had 2 cups of coffee and one glass of juice w/seltzer in it. Most restaurants give way more than I can drink with a meal, except in Europe :)

14. yes
for many people, fatigue is actually caused by dehydration. I have to remind myself to drink water and I notice that when I have a coke, say with dinner, I drink very little.

19. Are you saying
that you drink less if you're drinking a soda? I find I drink less of anything that isn't water. It's worse if I start the day with anything but water, too.

16. Well if you weren't extremely active that day
That's probably OK because you also derive water from the food you eat. Try to drink more fluids but you don't necessarily have to follow the "8 glasses a day" guide. Now they say you should just let thirst direct your intake.

22. Sort of -
I drink a lot during and just after exercise, but the rest of the day I don't really get thirsty unless I eat something salty. Or it could be that I got enough water for the day drinking three 20-oz bottles of water during and right after my workout.

Do you eat lots of fruits and vegetables? You could be getting enough fluid that way.
