money .. who needs it?
Riches lead to despair for huge lotto winner

Washington - Money can't buy happiness. No one knows that better than Jack Whittaker, winner of the biggest unshared lottery jackpot in US history.

It was a life-altering experience, to say the least, but unfortunately for Whittaker much of the change has not been for the better.

The 57-year-old has lost hundreds of thousands of dollars to thieves, has been sued and charged with drunken driving and this week lost one of the most precious things in his life: his granddaughter, who died on Monday and was buried Christmas Eve, almost exactly two years after Whittaker won the enormous prize.

"If I had known what lay before us, I would have torn up the lottery ticket," Whittaker's wife, Jewel, told the Charleston Gazette.

9. Yeah, blame the lottery, not your idiot husband
Who was a gambling addict and who was robbed of thousands of dollars because he took a bag full of cash to a strip club - $545,000 in cash.

Once again, a case of people who can't take responsibility for their own actions.
