A customer came in just a bit ago, and I noticed her eyes were teared up, although she was quite happy. Because it's windy here today and she was riding a bike, I intended to comment on the wind being strong enough to cause her eyes to tear up. What came out of my mouth was:

Strong enough to make your ears tie up, isn't it?"

She looked at me for a second, started giggling and said, "Yes, something like that".
