7. This really isnt " work"

since I am a volunteer. But i am marked up as the fireman on a New Years Eve run on our non proffit railroad. That still makes me the other person on the locomotive - but i admit its more like having a large train set ( 1: 1 scale ) to play with - still it is " working" as part of the train and engine crew.

Seven PM call at the yard tomorrow night .

I can't wait until our Southern Pacific Mikado is rebuilt and back in operation.
Class MK 5 # 786. I used to have the whistle on my answering machine.

Instead we are using a loaned engine AUAR # 9055 ( a GE 1600 12 cylinder rebuilt diesel that develops 1275 HP )

I wish the currious could see what it looks like from the head end.

9. University shut down!

One of the perks of working for a University. We have paid leave from Christmas Eve through New Years. Doesn't count as our vacation, we just get it on top of our vacation. That and having classes paid for if we want to attend. I love my job!
