Reason #1 to stay home on New Year's Eve: Drunks with guns.

Reason #2: Drunks in cars.

This has been a public-service message from your local ex-cop. Had this been a real emergency, you would have been running around screaming, crying like a baby and asking for God to help you. C' mon, you know it's true-- just admit it!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled insanity...

;)

1. Reason #3 - drunks in cars with guns - I live in Vegas :(
Oh, and just for the record; in times of crisis, I'm the calm one. I wait to panic after the fact.

I may wet my pants and shake like a leaf in a windstorm afterwards, but when it's 'clutch time' I'm as cool as a cucumber.

:P

3. Funny...
I heard a host on a local radio talk show say that the "Don't shoot guns into the air" rule hit home for him last year when he found a bullet on his doorstep.

Have these people no concept of gravity? Do they not realize that what goes up must come down?

7. But, but, gravity is only a theory.
I'm in a weird mood today.

5. When I lived in Baltimore a morning DJ told this very funny story
He said that every single New Year's Day his power was out and every single year called Baltimore Gas and Electric and every single year they told him the same thing......people shooting off guns on New Year's Eve had hit a transformer. Every single year no matter where he lived.

8. drunks period.
when one doesn't drink like I don't, being around lots of drunk people gets old. If I drink, too, it wouldn't be so bad. I don't really recall ever having fun going out on New Years.

12. Oh sure! Pick on gunowners
Don't you know how many times drunk people are robbed? They've even got a term for it: Rolling. But how many drunks do you suppose get robbed when they're armed? Yeah, I thought so!

Besides, how in the world do you expect a minor altercation to escalate into lethal violence unless at least one loaded person (and preferably more) has a loaded gun?
