Poll question: How Many Kids Is "Too Many"?
If I was going to have children I'd only want one. But I was raised an only child, so maybe that's why.

6. I agree.
Maybe they're just more vocal, but there seem to be a lot of DUers who don't like children.

7. Haven't you heard?
Liberals despise children...unless they're having sex with them.

And we will be together at last with the blessing of the United States of Communism.

22. Yeah. I can't deal with children. Just cats and dogs.

Maybe it's just other people's kids.

5. Depends
You shouldn't have more children than you can support. Also, the two of you could be overwhelmed by just 3 kids if you have don't have the help that an extended supportive family can offer

9. I think it's an individual/couple's choice
But agreed, as long as they can support them financially, emotionally, intellectually...and if they don't want any at all, that's fine too.

I can't have kids, they would be way too much for me to handle anyway, being sick. If I could, I think one would be plenty. I come from a family where it's all or nothing (my aunt had 16, my grandparents 11 and 7, and plenty didn't marry or have any).

13. My boss has four
I have no idea why. The kids spend more time with aunts, uncles and granparents than they do with mom and dad. When they ARE with mom and dad (usually at the office, how fun for me!), mom and dad go crazy from the constant chatter. Well, you have a 6 year old, twin 5 year olds, and a 2 year old. You didn't expect quiet did you?

BTW - I have a boy and a girl, and I'm done now.

15. Same here.
Boy and a girl, and we're done. Some days even those two are too many.

17. You have the Amurkan dream!
2 children, a boy and a girl...do you have a pet? a dog or cat? that would just round it off perfectly.

18. As many that can fit within one's means
AS long as you can afford it, and not only with money, but with love, time, energy, patience, then I think it's up to the parents as to how many kids they have.

I just don't like seeing some folks who have four, five, six kids but live in a 2-bedroom apartment, only one car, only one parent working...to me that just doesn't make any sense.

21. I agree with that
but if it wasn't for Catholic mass reproduction, I wouldnt be here today. My dad had 5 brothers and sisters, but thats small compared to my mom's parents who grew up in big families. If people want to mass reproduce, thats fine but the smart thing to do is be able to afford it, now when I marry, I plan to have 2-3 kids around.
