That's insane. I hadn't seen those photos before. This is so terrible...and for those countries affected it will take years to recover.

I've seen a lot of pics of this disaster, but these are amazing. The water swept over the whole peninsula (island?) from the looks of it.

...not a big wave, just rising water that keeps on rising - deceptively.

I can see how people possibly ignored it just thinking it might stop and go down.

But it didn't.

10. what is amazing...

and frightening. Is that, there are rows of houses that are just gone. Yea, a flood, okay, water around houses (which is very bad), but the streets and houses are frickin gone. Thanks for posting the pics/links. If the numbers don't do it enough, the pics help to portray how massive this was/is.
