how do I open a Hewlett Packard case? |

What the hell is it with Hewlett Packard they have to make their computer cases like damn puzzle boxes...no screws...no obvious was to open it...it drives me mad i tell you... It's an old Vectra VL I found in the dumpster outside my apartment...It's a p2 I33 MHz 64 megs ram ... tiny hard drive but my kids can use it to play games on...but I would like to put in a bigger hard drive and maybe enhance the ram and clockspeed...but i can't get the damn thing open....
help me please..help me.....waaaaaah!

The Vectra didn't have any screws, you just lifted the handle to get the side panel off.
FYI, most Hard Drives these days will not work on that old of a machine. At best you will only have 32 GB of space which is usually a small fraction of today's 100+ GB drives.

believe it or not i installed windows xp on it for now...and they are playing winnie the pooh on it and care bears...but as you say it is very ancient and needs to be upgraded...i have lots o parts (parts is parts)...but opening the case is apparently beyond my little monkey brain...

that model is not a tower, it lays horizontal rather than vertical. In the front bottom left and right corners there should be sliding locks that you move inward to unlock. Do that and then give the case a smack on the sides while moving it to the rear at the same time. This should release it. Slide it back a little and then lift up.
