6. Yeah,
yesterday it looked like the same kind of sky we get before a bad thunderstorm or tornado. Not winter at all.

9. Yes it's lots better than a blizzard.
It's muddy around here though. We never had a decent lawn to begin with though. A great day here too! Just wish more Iowans could enjoy it rather than worrying about what may be coming next week.

11. I look at it as we are now about 1/3 done with meteorological
winter, which is a good feeling. Every warm day is less fuel being used to heat houses, although I wonder if this is another one of those global warming signs or an anomoly. Whatever, I love this balmy weather

12. I love it too!
Even in a normal winter there's a January thaw where it gets warm for a week, then temps start to moderate. The real heavy snows here happen when it's warmer, like hovering around 30 or so in Feb or March.
Makes me feel great to see it like this. Yeah it could be global warming at work.

13. did you have heavy snow yet? We didn't. We have had 2 or 3
small snows, like 3" each. Two of them were like shovelling water. But no large snow "event" yet

16. No, no heavy snow at all.
We've had 1 day where it snowed about 3" in about 3-4 hours. Other than that it's just been dustings. Enough to make some roads slick but that's about it.

8. Weather Channel says it's gonna be in the 50s all next week.
January in the Northeast. Okay, could be weirder, though. We had a week in The Bronx sometime in the early 70s -- in January, I swear(!) where the temps were in the high 70s and everyone was wandering around in shock, in shorts...in January. I'll never forget it.
