"happy as a clam."
How can you tell when a clam is happy?

Any other sayings which make absolutely no sense?

5. I was pondering one last night
"Scared the bejesus out of me." What the hell is a "bejesus"? And where did it originate?

My mom used to say when she didn't really know someone that she "didn't know them from a bale of hay." Always made me laugh. I got a mental picture of some guy and a bale of hay standing side by side and my mom scratching her head trying to figure out which was which.

10. lol! Makes more sense now!
All I could think of was them sort of sitting there, filtering microscopic clam food (or whatever they "eat").

If I was in a rock band, I'd name it "The Carnivorous Clams."
