I would love to meet some fellow DUers, while taking some good photographs of the protests. Considering that I no longer work for a daily newspaper, I don't have to pretend to be objective. I'll be wearing an anti-bush shirt.

9. At the DC Anti-War Network action...we have speakers lining up

We are still formulating speakers for our action (DC Anti-War Network), which has been endorsed by United for Peace and Justice

Among the confirmed speakers to date (always subject to change), include Father Jean Juste (Haitian political prisoner) and Rev. Graylan Hagler (for those who don't know him, you should).

We also have verbal commitments from Granny D, Medea Benjamin, and Ellen Thomas.

Beyond that, we have a commitment from David Rovics, the folk singer, to play at our event.

On January 21, there is an interesting counter-inaugural event at Rev. Hagler's Church, and featuring a fundraiser for a documentary on the peace movement by Laurel Jensen of Dreamcatcher Films that is still in production. At this event, Rosie O'Donnell has agreed to participate in some form. We are working with this group to see if Rosie might be interested in speaking at our march. This is tentative, and you are one of the only groups in the country to hear about this, so I'd ask that you sort of keep it on this list for now. However, it's firm enough to announce publicly that she's on board for that event, which my group, has endorsed.

Hope this helps give you info most don't have about what's happening.

Our action begins at 9 AM at DC's Malcolm X Park and will march very close to the White House (and yes, we expect the police to let us get that close).

She stole the rally at the counter-inaugural 4 years ago.

It was like going through a time machine and listening to its critique of today. She sounded like old recordings of FDR.
