1. I don't do much ice fishing anymore
I might go later this year up Maine way. I hate to confirm a stereotype here but ice fishing generally is an excuse to hang out and drink beer. At least with the crowd I go with. The "fishing" is pretty much secondary.

3. There have been a few folks out on Lake Mendota
in Madison but I couldn't tell you what there luck has been except that I didn't see anyone fall through the ice!
(I'm originally from Illinois and couldn't believe the sight of all these people out on the ice on a cold winters day when I moved up here!)

5. Ice? What's this "ice" you're talking about?
Oh, I remember now. Yeah, back in the winter of '86 the lake was frozen solid for a month. I'd bundle the kids up in their snowsuits and we'd go over there and watch the people fishing through holes in the ice.

Of course, that was back in the old days, when we actually had snow. These days, all it seems to do is drizzle.
