How do you pronounce Phuket? really |
|
I'm ignorant. I don't watch the news. How is Phuket pronounced? foo-ket' or like I've felt since this town has come to the media forefront? Thanks.

I was thinking "fuck it" but I knew that couldn't be right. When I was in college I had a 2nd grade pen pal named Pharkthin who was from Laos. His name was pronounced, "par-TEN."

Seriously. Go into a local Thai restaurant and say it. A lot. And loudly.

15. Heard a TV broadcaster call it "fuk-it" the other day |
|
Hilarious...his co-anchor nearly fell out of his chair laughing, and so did I. The poor guy had this confused look on his face and had NO idea why his anchor was laughing until the sports guy (sitting on his other side) chimed in with an "Uh, I think that's pronounced FOO-KET". Like any good announcer in that situation, he just smiled into the camera and continued on with the story.
You KNOW they were giving him hell during the commercial break though...
