Is it just me, or was Michael Nesmith the most talented of The Monkees? |

he had Davey Jones and Mickey Dolenz running scared. Mike Nesmith only quit to pursue the Liquid Paper scam so he could pay the huge protection money Tork was demanding... :scared:

I saw a film he made called "Elephant (something,)" it was great.
Made no sense, but was a real trip to see.
BTW, I saw the Monkee's in concert, back in the late 60's, (i was under 10,) I loved them and hated their opening act.
Some guy named Jimi Hendrix.

Stone Poneys with Linda Ronstadt, helped create the music video genre... dressed up like Frank Zappa in the best Monkees episode ever...
But Mickey Dolenz deserves props for sheer goofiness.

"Popclips:" They played all manner of weird stuff, from Video Killed the Radio Star to Steve Winwood doing Night Train. I watched it endlessly on cheap local cable. This would have been around 1982, I think.

10. Mike was probably best all around... |
|
i.e. singing, songwriting, musicianship (check out his 90's solo CD "Tropical Campfires"), but Peter was hands down the best musician: guitar, bass, keyboards (he can play Bach like nobody's business!), banjo, and a few other instruments. Peter has a band called "Shoe Suede Blues Band" that's worth checking out; they do a few Monkees tunes, but mostly original and blues covers.
