Does anyone know how to reduce the size of a pdf file?
I have a 2 meg pdf file I want to put on a 1.44 floppy. Does anyone know how I can reduce the size of this file?

If someone has the necessary software and would be willing to help me I would greatly appreciate it.

4. The pdf is an IRS publication to prepare 2004 taxes.
I got a job as a tax preparer and I want to take that pdf for reference. I'm not sure zipping it up would be practical because I'm not sure they have winzip at work.

6. All XP mahcines come with a zip utility with them......but about PDFs
I think they are what they are, and can't be compressed that much if at all.

8. It depends on whether it's text-based or just scanned on
If it was converted from Word you might be able to reduce some meta-data and functionality to squeeze the size, but not much.

2. Winzip
I think. I haven't done windows in years, but Winzip is still probably a free download. Easy to use, too.

3. if you can't ZIP the file
you should be able to cut to file into two sections (assuming you have the right version of the Adobe software)

10. It's doubtful you can
If it was created by the IRS, the document is probably locked down. That is, even if you open it in a full version of Adobe Acrobat, you will only be able to make the changes that the creator has allowed.

11. Got off the 'sneaker-net' some time back...
...if the file's just too big, I e-mail to myself or whoever.

If I have to carry a physical file, I use a USB key drive.
