Costco rocks - and not only cause they're blue
Today, I bought a new printer, an HP Officejet 4215xi. It's perfect for me. It comes equipped with printer, fax, scanner and copier. It prints good photos, according to the reviews.
I paid $89 dollars at Costco.
Later on in the afternoon, I stopped by Office Depot to buy some other things and I saw the same printer I had just purchased for $129.
I saved 40 dollars at Costco and was able to shop blue. I'm happy.

4. Nothin' wrong with shopping blue ... but make sure you really ARE
saving money.

You got a good deal on today's purchase; but will you make enough purchases there over the course of the year to more than offset the membership fee and still see savings on the items you bought?

I had a membership there one year...it just didn't pay. Of course, that's 'cause it's just me...no family to buy for.

5. I've been a member for years and it does pay off
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 07:12 PM by RagingInMiami
I save almost 50 percent on memory cards for my camera, not to mention all the money I save on proscuitto and beer. I also buy my toilet paper, paper towels and aluminium foil there cause even though it's in bulk, it's stuff that I'm going to need anyway.

EDIT: I also save a lot on contact lenses

9. It was for me...glad it's working out for you, though.
It all depends on your purchasing and use habits.

13. I share the cost with my niece
because you get 2 cards for the same membership. We supply 2 households this way and it saves us both tons.

10. I love it too...
I got the "executive membership because you get the 2% rebate every year. Since I have teens to feed and my husband is a graphic designer who runs through LOTS of computer and ofice supplies ...we always get a rebate of more than the membership costs and save money on food and toiletries big time.

:-)

11. I also purchased Photoshop Elements 3.0 today at Costco
To upgrade my 2.0 version. I paid $79 and it came with "100 sheets of 4 x 6 photo paper - for Costco members only - while supplies last."

I'm checking online and the same program is going between 89 to 99 dollars. And that's without the bonus photo paper.

So yes, Costco rocks!!

14. tsumani donations
Not only can you make tsunami donations on your Costco credit card, the company matches dollar for dollar to the American Red Cross. I was going to donate to Doctors Witout Borders but they had stopped taking donations when I went to Costco for my weekly pet food trip (yeah, I have a really big dog!) when I saw the notice. I love Costco. I buy a lot of books there. They seem to have a good selection for half the cost.
